The 2026 racing season marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Team Thoné. After the complete sale of our racing colony on PIPA (Loft Jos Thoné) in January, we started again from scratch with a carefully selected team of youngsters, bred from our very best breeders and strengthened with exceptional youngsters from befriended top fanciers (ex. Marc De Cock & Marc Vanonckelen), all carrying outstanding pedigrees and proven winning bloodlines. From the other side of the road we are continuing with focus on the (extreme) long distance races with the existing colony from Loft Thoné Xavier & Maxim.
Many wondered how quickly such a young team could perform. The answer has been clear from the very first races. Competing on the short and middle distances, our youngsters have exceeded all expectations, collecting first prizes and top positions week after week. Their consistency, determination and class confirm once again that true quality always prevails.
Particularly impressive have been the descendants of our legendary 'Nina' family, which are currently leading the way on the speed races with remarkable performances. Their dominance is further proof of the extraordinary genetic strength that continues to characterize this exceptional bloodline.
For years, some have claimed that Thoné pigeons are primarily middle- and long-distance specialists and lack true speed. The results of this season leave little room for doubt. Our youngsters have been competing at the highest level on the speed races, consistently outperforming the competition and demonstrating that Thoné pigeons possess not only endurance and intelligence, but also the explosive speed required to win at the shortest distances.
